2001 Ibanez RG320

I picked up this 2001 Ibanez RG320 off Craigslist a few weeks ago for $50.00. Wasn’t sure if it was a solid guitar or if the neck was bad, It was in rough shape. Took it to my guitar tech and he did a fret job on it. It was very dirty and mainly needed to be cleaned up and setup. After putting new pickups (Dimarzio PAF-PRO and Dimarzio Evolution) and a new tremolo (Ibanez Lo-Pro Edge tremolo) among a few other upgrades it is in great shape now and plays and sounds amazing. I call it an RG 1320 now.

Bill MacKechnie / Anubis Spire

I found out Friday that my good friend and band mate Bill MacKechnie passed away last Monday. I had joined his band Anubis Spire a little over a year ago. We had been working on the next album. We had been taking a break and planned to get back to working on the album as soon as he was back to feeling well.This has hit me hard. Slap Like Now!

I have played bass out of necessity for my albums since I play every part on everything. I never tried to play slap bass but always thought it would be cool but had no idea how to play like that and never took the time to try to learn. Well the other day I decided to give it a try and looked up a tutorial on youtube. I went through a tutorial video with the bass unplugged so I couldn’t really tell what it would sound like. Today I finally got my bass hooked up and tried it out. I like it and the funny thing is it almost sounds like drums and bass when you do it rite.So here is my first attempt. I have a ways to go but it is pretty fun. With some practice I think I’ll enjoy doing more Bass on my tracks. Slap Like Now!!!
